Perhaps it must pass through a liminal phase—like electric cars still bearing the ghost of a radiator grille, or plant-based meals that echo the memory of meat. Digital landscapes are filling with villages and cities that resemble those we already inhabit, familiar enough to comfort, strange enough to unsettle. In this mimetic drift, the boundary between the real and the simulated begins to dissolve, until reality itself feels like an image hovering on the surface of the glass.
